Although we all know that regular training is essential for improving our physical fitness, it’s also true that, however much we enjoy it, the sacrifice it entails isn’t always easy. Even the person who loves a particular sport the most sometimes feels lazy or unmotivated when it comes to facing a workout.
Some people say they prefer to train with someone precisely because it serves as motivation. And they’re not wrong; certainly, workouts with others tend to be more enjoyable, but that also has its downsides, such as more distractions, and the workout can be less effective.
As we’ve said, we have fewer distractions. All our attention is focused on successfully completing the workout, respecting work and rest periods. Furthermore, we achieve greater organization, as we can structure our workouts based on our individual needs, focusing on our goals. In other words, there tends to be less improvisation.
On the other hand, our schedules are usually more organized. Often, if we train with another person or groups, we need more space or equipment. It’s much easier to adapt when you’re alone than when there are more than one person, so there’s usually less waiting time, which is essential.
To carry out a solo workout, it’s crucial to establish a routine that we can complete without assistance. Thinking about dynamic workouts that keep us motivated is important so we don’t need a partner.
Even so, as we mentioned at the beginning, we’ll always have moments of weakness, but we’ll be able to overcome them successfully. We are waiting for you at the Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT)!
