The Latvian athlete is another of the elite athletes preparing for the season at the center
Laura Ikauniece, a Latvian heptathlete, has chosen the Tenerife Athletics Centre (CIAT) for her training and preparations for the upcoming season.
One of the best in her discipline, Ikauniece won a silver medal at the 2021 European Championships in Helsinki at just 20 years old and a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing. She currently holds the Latvian national record with 6,815 points, which is also her personal best.
Ikauniece joins other elite athletes who have recently trained at the CIAT facilities, such as Estonian Magnus Kirt, the world number one javelin thrower; Austrian javelin thrower Patricia Mald; and shot putter Jander Heil, a 23-year-old Estonian national champion.
