The Tenerife race will have its own booth at the Transvulcania runners’ expo, which takes place October 19–21 in Los Llanos de Aridane

The Tenerife Bluetrail, Spain’s highest-altitude mountain race—organized by the Cabildo through the public company Ideco—will be promoted at the fair Ultra-Trail Village at Transvulcania, which will take place October 19–21 at the Llano Tesa Sports Complex in Los Llanos de Aridane.

The island’s Sports Minister, Concepción Rivero, explains that “we want to continue supporting La Palma and also one of its most attractive sporting events, the Transvulcania, the trail race that has had to be suspended for two years due to COVID-19 and the volcanic eruption. Tenerife Bluetrail will participate as an exhibitor at the runners’ fair with its own booth, through which we aim to attract new athletes.”

People who visit the Tenerife Bluetrail booth during the three-day fair will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for registration spots in the next edition of the race, which will take place June 8–10. A 10% discount on the registration fee will also be offered to athletes who sign up during the fair.

The Tenerife Bluetrail, for which registration is now open on the website www.tenerifebluetrail.com, will debut three new categories this year aimed at families and children, as well as a course for joëlettes—special wheelchairs adapted for athletes with limited mobility.

The next edition of the race will feature a maximum of 3,400 athletes, including those in the new races, but the limit on the number of participants crossing Teide National Park remains in place to protect the area and ensure the quality of the race.

The Ultra race will have 500 participants, the same as the Trail race, while the Half and the Marathon will have 900 and 800 spots, respectively. The Trail Relay category will be reserved for 50 pairs, and the Vertical race has 150 spots. The prices set by the organizers range from 10 euros for the Vertical—if participants also enter another category—to 135 euros for the Ultra. Participation in the Bluetrail Challenge and thejoëlette race is free for participants.
