The Tenerife race has its own booth in the Trail Zone at the Transgrancanaria, which is being held at Expomeloneras through next Friday
The Tenerife Bluetrail, Spain’s highest-altitude mountain race—organized by the Cabildo through the public company Ideco—is being promoted starting today in the Trail Zone at the Transgrancanaria, which runs through tomorrow, Friday the 22nd, at Expomeloneras (San Bartolomé de Tirajana).
The island’s Sports Councilor, Concepción Rivero, explains that “our participation in this sporting event aims to attract new runners to the Tenerife Bluetrail through promotions such as discounts on registration fees or the chance to win prizes in raffles.”
Rivero points out that “with less than four months to go before the race, registration is proceeding at a very good pace across the various categories, especially in some of them—such as the Half Marathon and the Marathon—where the number of registrants has skyrocketed in recent weeks.”
People who visit the Tenerife Bluetrail booth during the three-day fair will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for entries to the next edition of the race, which will take place June 8–10. Athletes who sign up during the fair will also receive a 10% discount on the registration fee.
The Tenerife Bluetrail, which is still accepting registrations through its website www.tenerifebluetrail.com, will debut three new categories this year aimed at families, children, and a course for joëlettes—special wheelchairs adapted for athletes with limited mobility.
The next edition of the race will feature a maximum of 3,400 athletes, including those in the new races, but the limit on the number of participants crossing Teide National Park remains in place to protect the area and ensure the quality of the race.
The Ultra race will have 500 participants, the same as the Trail race, while the Half and Marathon races will have 900 and 800 spots, respectively. The Trail Relay category will be reserved for 50 pairs, and the Vertical race has 150 spots. The prices set by the organizers range from 10 euros for the Vertical—if participants also enter another category—to 135 euros for the Ultra. Participation in the Bluetrail Challenge and the joëlette race is free for participants.
