The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® will open registration for the 2026 edition next week

The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, the trail race organized by the Tenerife Island Council through the public company Ideco, will open registration on June 25 for runners with a valid UTMB® Index via its website tenerife.utmb.world, and two days later, on June 27, for all other athletes. A total of 3,200 spots will be available across the different race categories.

The event, which will mark its 15th edition in 2026, will take place from March 19 to 21, featuring ten categories and the same course as this year for each race.

The Regional Minister of Sports, Yolanda Moliné, highlights “the tremendous challenge posed by organizing a race of the magnitude of the Tenerife Bluetrail, which for the third consecutive year is part of the UTMB® World Series circuit. “We’ve already begun setting the wheels in motion that will lead us to culminate in March with a unique, sustainable event of international significance that attracts more top-level athletes every day.”

In this regard, Yolanda Moliné reiterates the importance of this race, “not only because it attracts top athletes, but also because of the economic activity it generates, which benefits many businesses on the island.”

The organization will offer significant discounts to the first registrants and an additional 30% discount to athletes residing in the Canary Islands.

The race offers four race categories through which participants can earn Running Stones, which provide opportunities to qualify for the Hoka UTMB Mont-Blanc, the world’s most prestigious trail running race: the Tenerife Bluetrail 110k / 6,250m+ (100M category – 4 Running Stones), which will have 500 spots, as will the Tenerife Bluetrail 73k / 3,150m+ (100K category – 3 Running Stones); the Tenerife Bluetrail 47k/2,600m+ (50K category – 2 Running Stones) will offer 800 spots; and the Tenerife Bluetrail 24k / 1,300m+ (20K category – 1 Running Stone) will have 900 spots available.

In addition to these races, other events will be held, such as the Tenerife Bluetrail 47K Relay—a 47-kilometer relay race with 100 spots available—and the 3.5-kilometer Vertical Night Challenge, which takes place in the Asomadero area and also has 100 spots available. Registration will also open for children’s races, family races, and adapted races.

The latest edition of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB drew 3,200 runners from 65 countries across its 10 race categories, with more than 700 people involved in security and logistics operations and around 200 volunteers.
