The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® has sold out its two longest races before opening general registration

The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, the trail race organized by the Tenerife Island Council through the public company Ideco, is opening general registration today for its 2027 edition after the 110k and 82k categories sold out their 400 available spots for each distance during the early stages of the registration process.

In just one week, the race sold nearly half of the 5,220 race bibs available for the eleven race categories before the general registration period opened for all runners.

Sports Minister Yolanda Moliné notes that “these figures reflect the enormous appeal that the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® continues to hold for runners from around the world. The fact that the 110k and 82k races sold out before general registration opened confirms the interest the race generates and reinforces its position within the international UTMB® World Series circuit.”

Moliné also points out that “this race is much more than just a sporting competition. It has become a major driving force for promoting the island and an event that generates significant economic benefits thanks to the arrival of runners and their companions, who discover Tenerife through sports and nature.”

The fifteenth edition of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® will take place from April 8 to 10, 2027, and will once again be part of the UTMB® World Series, the world’s leading international trail running circuit.

The event will feature eleven race categories tailored to different participant profiles. These include the competitive distances of 110k, 82k, 68k, 47k, and 24k; the 47k Relay and the Vertical Night Challenge; as well as the Family, Kids, Challenge, and Joëlette categories.

The 2027 edition will feature several new additions. Among them is the new 68-kilometer race, which will take place on April 9, starting from Plaza del Adelantado in La Esperanza, in the municipality of El Rosario. The race will feature 3,600 meters of elevation gain and will grant the top three finishers direct entry to the 2027 Hoka UTMB® Mont-Blanc.

In addition, the current 73k race will be extended to become an 82k race, while the Vertical Night Challenge will debut a new 6.5-kilometer course starting at Socorro Beach in Los Realejos and finishing at the Mirador de La Corona.

Registration will remain open until March 10, 2027, or until all available spots are filled.
