The fair will feature around 100 booths and more than 30 activities, including exhibitions, workshops, and competitions in various sports
The Tenerife Island Council presents Sport Summit, a trade show that will bring together sports, health, and wellness at the Recinto Ferial from June 8 to 10. This free event will feature booths and activities of interest to both industry professionals and enthusiasts. In addition, it will serve as the pickup location for race bibs for the Tenerife Bluetrail, which will take place on Saturday, June 10, and can be followed from the fairgrounds themselves.
The acting Island Councilor for Sports, Concepción Rivero, and the director of Lava Sports Group—the event’s organizer— Víktor Rodríguez, have presented the details of this fair, which also has the support of the Island Council’s Socioeconomic Development Department, headed by acting councilor Carmen Luz Baso.
During the presentation, Concepción Rivero noted that “the fair will feature around 100 booths and more than thirty activities, including exhibitions, workshops, events, and competitions in various sports.”
He also highlighted that “on Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th, we will be handing out race bibs for the Tenerife Bluetrail, which already has more than 2,000 runners from 33 countries registered. The competition’s booth will also feature a team of psychologists from the Official College of Psychology of Santa Cruz de Tenerife who will provide free counseling to runners to help them optimize their mental state ahead of the race and thus improve their results.”
For his part, Viktor Rodríguez, director of Lava Sports Group, highlighted several events on the schedule, such as “the official CrossFit competition, the Iberian Throwdown, which has seen record participation this year, the Deka Strong Challenge Spartan, which will award prizes to the three athletes who achieve the best times, and the Sprint Masters 100-meter ninja-style obstacle course, which will be held in the outdoor area of the venue.”
In this regard, Rodríguez noted that “this is the first time a space has been set aside for the nautical sector, which will occupy more than 1,500 square meters of the venue.”
Also worth mentioning is the Green Sport Flag Forum on sports and the environment, which aims to raise awareness about achieving sustainability through physical activity, and the “Free Up One Square Meter Against Littering” project, which seeks to reduce litter in natural areas.
The Tenerife Island Council, through the public company Ideco, will be present at the fair with booths representing several of its sports centers and programs, such as the Tenerife Santa Cruz-Ofra Sports Complex, the Tenerife Motor Racing Circuit, and the Sports Activity Plan for Social Inclusion (PADIS), in addition to the prominent space that the Tenerife Bluetrail will occupy.
The fair will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information, please visit the event’s website: www.sportsummit.es.
