The company, which is renewing its sponsorship of the race, will offer a 15% discount to runners and their companions

The island’s Sports Minister, Yolanda Moliné, and the CEO of Fred. Olsen S.A., Andrés Marín, today renewed the agreement that will make transportation more affordable for participants in the upcoming edition of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®. Registered athletes will thus be able to take advantage of the company’s special “Sport” fare, which offers an additional 15% discount for traveling with their companions to Spain’s highest mountain race, to be held June 6–8.

Fred. Olsen Express’s “Sport” fare—a benefit the shipping company has been offering runners for several years—is now available through all of the company’s usual sales channels for trips taking place between June 5 and 10. The only requirement is that at least one member of the reservation be registered for the race.

The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, organized by the Cabildo through the public company Ideco, has been included this year for the first time in the UTMB® World Series, the world’s most important trail running circuit. The upcoming edition of the event offers ten categories, including four race categories that allow participants to earn Running Stones and qualify for the sport’s most prestigious mountain race: the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc, held in late August in Chamonix, France. Specifically, these are the Tenerife Bluetrail 110K / 6,250m+ (100M category – 4 Running Stones); the Tenerife Bluetrail 73K / 3,150m+ (100K category – 3 Running Stones); the Tenerife Bluetrail 47K / 2,600m+ (50K category – 2 Running Stones); and the Tenerife Bluetrail 24K / 1,300m+ (20K category – 1 Running Stone).

These races are joined by other events such as the Tenerife Bluetrail 47K Relay, a 47-kilometer relay race, and the 3.5-kilometer Vertical Night Challenge. Children’s and family events, as well as the adapted races—the Reto and Joëlettes—round out the lineup of events for the 2024 edition.

Registration is still open on the event’s website, tenerife.utmb.world, for the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, one of only two races in Spain that are part of the world’s premier trail running circuit.
