The CIAT Track and Field School kicks off the season with 400 spots available

The CIAT Track and Field School has kicked off the 2025/2026 season with 400 spots available, of which 280 are for children and 120 for adults. Athletes will be divided into different age groups and will train on different days and at different times.

Yolanda Moliné, the Tenerife Island Council’s Sports Councilor, emphasizes that “people of all ages have the opportunity to get started in a sport as well-rounded as track and field at an iconic facility like the CIAT, where professional athletes from various clubs also train. These athletes then have the option to join a sports federation and eventually compete.”

This is a non-affiliated introductory school that has been in operation since 2010. Its teaching methodology for the youngest children focuses on helping them acquire the basic skills of running, jumping, and throwing through games and physical exercises that allow them to have a variety of motor experiences.

The school participates in the Tenerife Island Council Games competitions as a way to gain exposure to the competitive aspect and rules of the sport in an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration. In addition, students at the adult school can participate in the Cabildo Masters Games to get started in competition and also have the opportunity to take part in other races held on the island.
