World champion Paul Capell is leading the challenge to reverse the race course alongside other prominent athletes

This Tuesday, March 25, the Yelmo Meridiano Cinemas will host the first edition of Moving Sessions, an event that brings together film, sports, and social transformation. In collaboration with the Moving the Planet Foundation—whose core values are sustainability, solidarity, diversity, and movement—and organized by Kikazaru 360, this special event will feature an exclusive screening of the four episodes of *Bluetrail Inversa* and the short film “*Sombras en la Meta*, both produced by Kikazaru 360 with support from Ideco and Turismo de Tenerife. The short film stars Yaiza Guimaré and is based on the book of the same name by French writer Pascal Büniet.

In addition, the Inversa World Series Seal will be awarded for the first time at the event to the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, a distinction that certifies that events meet criteria for sustainability and social responsibility.

One of the major highlights of this year’s event will be the screening of *Inversa—Tenerife Bluetrail 2025*, a four-part documentary that offers a new perspective on trail running. Tenerife Bluetrail Inversa is an initiative of the Tenerife Island Council, carried out through Turismo de Tenerife and Ideco—the organizer of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®—that combines adventure, nature, and a fresh perspective on how to experience the sport.

The vice president and island councilor for Tourism, Lope Afonso, highlights the importance of this initiative, “which will allow us to showcase Tenerife’s culture and traditions, its cuisine, and the beauty of its landscapes through the eyes of those who live it.” Lope Afonso believes that “this is a magnificent showcase for demonstrating the island’s potential as a host of major international sporting events, such as the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB.”

For Dimple Melwani, CEO of Turismo de Tenerife, the Blue Trail by UTMB has become “one of the most challenging and appealing trail races for athletes, both nationally and internationally.” In this regard, Inversa Tenerife Bluetrail invites us to participate through a unique audiovisual piece that highlights the challenges and experiences of these athletes, promoting personal growth and a connection with nature—with a race that reverses its usual route, making its coverage key to promoting the island. “This sporting event, which welcomes more participants every year, is celebrating the Inversa World Series Seal for the first time this year—a distinction that recognizes and certifies the sustainability and social responsibility criteria of this major sporting event,” notes Melwani.

The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, one of Spain’s most demanding mountain races, is being reinvented as the Inversa Project with a challenge that reverses its usual route: instead of starting in the south and descending toward the coast at Puerto de la Cruz, participants tackle the race in the opposite direction, crossing from the north to the south of the island.

This challenge has been led by UTWT world champion Pau Capell, alongside figures such as Virginia Torrecilla, Rubén García, Joel Bosqued, and Javier Santaolalla, and aims to make trail running accessible to everyone, allowing participants to walk the trail, enjoying the scenery, and discovering the culture and cuisine of the regions.

José Alberto Hernández Pérez, president of the Moving the Planet Foundation and CEO of Kikazaru 360, highlights the importance of this first edition of Moving Sessions: “Bringing the Inversa Project to Tenerife for the first time is a giant step toward making mountain sports accessible to more people. The fact that this debut edition on the island is part of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® ecosystem gives us a unique opportunity to show how nature and adventure can be accessible to everyone, regardless of their skill level or experience. Holding Moving Sessions as the inaugural event will allow us to share this project more intimately with the public and convey the essence of what we aim to communicate.”
