The plan includes the implementation of priority facilities in all 31 municipalities.
The Tenerife Island Council’s Department of Sports finalized the Tenerife Sports Infrastructure Plan (PIDT) last month. Councilor Concepción Rivero and Island Director Ángel Luis Pérez presented the key aspects of this document this morning in a virtual meeting with spokespeople from all the political groups that make up the Tenerife Island Council.
The PIDT outlines the construction of priority facilities for each of the island’s 31 municipalities, as well as establishing new initiatives within the sports programs developed by the Council for the period between 2022 and 2026. Once implemented, each municipality will have the opportunity to select its five priority projects.
Concepción Rivero stated that her aim is to reach a consensus among political parties and local councils, as Tenerife deserves to develop high-quality sports infrastructure that meets the needs of its citizens, promoting their well-being and ensuring a healthy lifestyle.
The councilor announced that “the main lines of work will focus on outdoor sports facilities, artificial turf fields, the Island Swimming Pool Plan, as well as new, unique spaces.”
This will not be the only meeting the councilor will hold to present the Tenerife Sports Infrastructure Plan, as she will also be outlining the document’s key points to municipal sports officials in the coming days.
