CIAT welcomes the Olympic medalist—one of the biggest stars in world track and field—to a meet that will also bring together more than 110 elite athletes from 40 different countries

The Canarias Athletics Invitational continues to establish itself as one of the major international track and field events in Spain, and its second edition will feature a star-studded lineup led by American Fred Kerley, the current Olympic bronze medalist and world champion in the 100-meter dash.

The American sprinter, known for his power, versatility, and charisma on the track, is one of the few athletes in history to have run the 100 meters in under 10 seconds, the 200 meters in under 20 seconds, and the 400 meters in under 44 seconds. This feat places him among the absolute elite of world track and field.

Kerley, 29, will arrive in Tenerife as one of the main attractions of the meet to be held this Saturday, May 31, at the Centro Insular de Atletismo in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. His presence is a real treat for track and field fans, who will be able to watch a champion with a staggering list of achievements in person: World Championship gold in the 100m (Eugene 2022), Olympic silver in the 100m (Tokyo 2020), Olympic bronze in the 100m (Paris 2024), as well as being a multiple relay and Diamond League champion.

Track and field enthusiasts can still secure a seat to witness this historic event on the track, which will be the focus of global attention this Saturday. Tickets for this event are available exclusively through the official website: www.canarias-invitational.com. With Fred Kerley’s confirmation, the Canary Islands meet raises the bar for its lineup and promises thrilling action on Saturday, a key day on the international track and field calendar.

The meet, organized by the Canary Islands Athletics Federation and Alka Sport, is supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, Canary Islands Tourism, the Tenerife Island Council, and the City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
