The center managed by Ideco attracts athletes from all over the world because of the quality of its facilities
In recent weeks, the Tenerife Island Athletics Center has welcomed several well-known athletes who have chosen the facility for their training sessions
Estonian athlete Magnus Kirt, the world’s top-ranked javelin thrower, was one of the athletes who visited the facility over the past few days. He won a silver medal at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar, and also took bronze at the 2018 European Championships in Berlin.
Patricia Mald, a 22-year-old javelin thrower from Austria, has been training for two weeks at CIAT. Ranked second in her country and 149th in the world, her goal for 2021 is to finish in the top five at the European Under-23 Championships and qualify the following year for the European Senior Championships, with the aim of reaching peak condition by 2024 and earning a spot at the Olympic Games.
Jander Heil, a 23-year-old Estonian shot putter, also visited CIAT, accompanied by his coach, Mario Vister. Despite his youth, he is his country’s national champion in this sport.
