The Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT) hosted 70 participants this week in two activities included in the Physical Activity and Sports Plan for Social Inclusion (PADIS), launched by the Island Council through the public company Ideco.

The first 40 attendees, from the DCA Acaman (Acquired Brain Injury Unit), Acaman Disability Care Center, Acaman School, and Andrés Llarena Occupational Center, visited the facility last Wednesday, March 23, to enjoy a special day practicing Latin dance.

The following day, Thursday the 24th, it was the turn of 30 users from the Trisomy 21 and Maximiliano López CAD centers, who were introduced to athletics on the facility’s outdoor track.

The Physical-Sports Activity Plan for Social Inclusion (PADIS) will provide the necessary tools to advance towards the effective inclusion of people with disabilities in the sports field through the organization of cross-cutting activities that normalize the practice of physical activity for this group.
