Approximately 600 participants are expected to compete. The event will take place between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
In total, 12 different events will be contested this weekend as part of the Tenerife Island Council Games, which aim to motivate young people to adopt an active lifestyle where regular physical activity plays a fundamental role.
The freestyle discipline will make its debut tomorrow at the José Martín Pavilion in El Rosario, while volleyball, beach volleyball, handball, swimming, artistic swimming, rugby, baseball, orienteering, badminton, and basketball will also resume. On Sunday the 23rd, it will be the turn of figure skating at the Jonay Risco Pérez Pavilion in San Miguel de Abona.
The Tenerife Island Council Games are a key element in the Island Corporation’s promotion of physical activity and sport among school-age children. They have become a valuable tool for fostering education, integration, solidarity, discipline, equality, sustainability, and camaraderie, becoming a multi-sport alternative in schools that, among other things, introduces the values of competition to young people living in Tenerife.
