All tests were performed according to the protocols established by the health authorities
The Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT) hosted the debut of the athletics competition of the Tenerife Island Council Games last Saturday [the 13th]. These games are organized by the Island Council through its Sports Department.
The competition, which took place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., brought together participants from the northern part of the island at the facility managed by Ideco. All athletic events were conducted while adhering to the preventative measures required by health authorities to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
In addition to the athletics competition, the disciplines of rugby, table tennis, chess, and baseball also made their debuts last weekend. The first individual finals were held in rhythmic gymnastics, and frontenis completed its second day of competition at two different venues.
As for volleyball, more than 40 matches were played at various facilities across the island. Handball is another discipline that continues to progress, with its third day of competition at the Tenerife Island Council Games taking place on Saturday.
