Last weekend’s event, held in Los Cristianos, featured 14 athletes from the center
On November 12, the Tenerife Athletics Center will host the second and final day of track and field events for the 6th Cabildo Masters Games, open to participants aged 30 and older. Last weekend’s event, held at the Antonio Domínguez Stadium in Los Cristianos, featured14 athletes from the CIAT School, who won several medals in the competition.
In the women’s 200-meter dash for the over-50 category, Antonieta Lombardo won the gold medal, while Mirta González took the bronze. Ana Cecilia Tejera also made it to the podium in the over-35 category.
In the 800-meter race for participants over 50, the top two spots went to María Angélica Rodríguez and Mirta González, respectively. In the +35 category, the bronze medal went to María del Mar Vilches.
In the men’s division, Iván Alejandro Alberto took second place in the high jump, while Jesús Amador Betancor won silver in the 200-meter race for athletes over 50. Raúl Zapico also took second place in the 800-meter race (over 35), an event in which his teammate Vicente Sánchez won the bronze. The team also made the podium in the relays, finishing second in the women’s event and third in the men’s.
CIAT Day
The events to be held at the CIAT during the next day of competition at the Masters Games will be the 60-, 400-, and 1,500-meter dashes; the 60-meter hurdles; and the 4×400-meter relay. There will also be the long jump, shot put, and women’s pole vault.
Each athlete may enter a maximum of two events and one relay.
