The 39-year-old Czech athlete is training in Tenerife for Tokyo, her fourth Olympic Games
Barbora Špotáková, a two-time Olympic champion in the javelin throw in Beijing (2008) and London (2012) and a three-time world champion, trained today at the Tenerife Athletics Center. Špotáková, who was born in the Czech Republic, also holds the world record in the event with a throw of 72.28 meters, set in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2008.
The veteran athlete, who trained in running and sprinting at CIAT, returned to competition last June in her home country following the coronavirus hiatus, where she was crowned champion at the Kladno meet. At 39 years old and after having her second child, the Czech athlete is preparing to win another medal in Tokyo, her fourth Olympic Games.
