CIAT Joins in Celebrating International Day of Deaf People

Next Sunday, the 29th, the Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT) will participate in International Day of Deaf People (DIPS), organized by the Federation of Associations of Deaf People of the Canary Islands (Fasican) and the Association of Deaf People of Tenerife (Asorte).

The Cabildo’s sports facility, managed by the public company Ideco, will host a friendly soccer match starting at 11:00 a.m. between the Tenerife Deaf Sports Club and its counterpart from Las Palmas.

In addition, CIAT will host a photography exhibition featuring deaf professional athletes competing alongside hearing athletes at the island, regional, national, and international levels.

“The Cause That Unites Us” is the slogan chosen this year to celebrate International Week of the Deaf, with Sunday, September 29, as its main day. This observance aims to raise awareness about the specific needs of the deaf and the importance of creating programs that promote their inclusion in all areas of society.
