CIAT expects more than 1,000 participants at the Cabildo Games this weekend

The competitions will take place on Saturday and Sunday

Track and field returns to the Cabildo Games this weekend with a double-header at the Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT), which will bring together around a thousand athletes under the auspices of the Tenerife Island Athletics Federation.

The first day of the event called “Jugando al atletismo” will be on Saturday, February 1, starting at 9:30 a.m., with the participation of the U-8, U-10, and U-12 age groups from the northern and southern regions. The events include 50- and 60-meter sprints, relays, and ball throws.

The track and field competition will continue on Sunday, February 2, starting at 10:00 a.m., with the first day of events for the southern region, featuring the U-14 and U-16 age groups. The events include the 80-, 100-, and 1,000-meter races; the 220- and 300-meter hurdles; the high jump and long jump; and the javelin and hammer throws.

The 16th day of the 38th Cabildo Games will feature other sports such as orienteering, Canarian wrestling, handball, and volleyball.
