The competition, held at the Antonio Domínguez Stadium in Los Cristianos (Arona), brought together more than 400 athletes

A total of 48 students from the Tenerife Athletics Center, managed by the public company Ideco, participated this weekend in the athletics finals of the Tenerife Island Council Games. The competition, held at the Antonio Domínguez Stadium in Los Cristianos, in the municipality of Arona, brought together more than 400 athletes from the under-16 and under-14 categories.

The sporting event once again served as an opportunity for participants to share experiences through sport, embodying all the values it entails: camaraderie, respect, solidarity, discipline, teamwork, empathy, effort, fair play, equality, generosity, enjoyment, and coexistence.

The students from the CIAT School also achieved a second-place finish in the boys’ under-14 relay, and the under-16 team secured a commendable third place. Beyond the sporting achievement, and in accordance with the Athletics School’s philosophy, the most important thing for these young athletes is to have fun while practicing their favorite sport.

The Tenerife Island Council Games are a key element in the Island Council’s initiative to promote physical activity and sport among school-age children. They have become a valuable tool for fostering fundamental aspects such as education, integration, solidarity, discipline, and equality, making them a multi-sport alternative in schools.
