A total of 116 athletes from the center attended the competition organized at the Finca Los Zamorano circuit.

A total of 116 athletes from the Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT), managed by the public company Ideco, participated last weekend in the cross-country event of the 35th edition of the Tenerife Island Council Games.

The competition, held on the Finca Los Zamorano circuit in the municipality of Tegueste, brought together 958 athletes representing 19 clubs from the island in the Benjamin, Alevín, Infantil, and Cadete categories.

The sporting event once again served as an opportunity for participants to share experiences through sport, embodying all the values it entails: camaraderie, respect, solidarity, discipline, teamwork, empathy, effort, fair play, equality, generosity, enjoyment, and community spirit.

Beyond the sporting achievements, including a second-place finish by our student Cheikh Diallo in the under-14 category and an excellent performance by the school’s athletes, the most important thing for participants in these types of competitions is always to have fun while practicing their favorite sport.

The event was held in accordance with current COVID-19 prevention and health measures, both in terms of access to the facilities and the organization of the different groups of players, to minimize contact and interaction between them, their accompanying parents or guardians, and the organization’s staff.
