A total of 60 people from six centers enjoyed a sports day at the facility managed by Ideco
This morning, the Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT) welcomed 60 participants to a new sports activity focused on track and field as part of the Physical Activity and Sports Plan for Social Inclusion (PADIS), launched by the Cabildo through the public company Ideco.
The participants in this event came from six different schools: IES Benito Pérez Armas, CEIP La Verdellada, CEIP Echeyde La Laguna, CEIP Echeyde Ofra, Colegio La Salle, and IES Los Naranjeros.
The Physical Activity and Sports Plan for Social Inclusion (PADIS) provides the necessary tools to move toward the effective inclusion of people with disabilities in sports by organizing cross-cutting activities that normalize physical activity for this group.
PADIS, which began its activities last December, will engage nearly 1,000 people from 47 centers across the island in 77 sports events through May. About twenty instructors oversee the activities, which have a maximum capacity of 100 participants per session and take place at various facilities throughout the island.
