The competition will bring together athletes in the under-14 and under-16 age groups from teams in the southern part of the island at the Cabildo facility
The Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT) will host the second day of the track and field events for the Cabildo Games tomorrow, Saturday, March 4, with more than 200 athletes from teams in the southern region competing in the under-14 and under-16 age groups.
This weekend, the 36th Cabildo Games will bring together 2,500 children in a total of 12 sports disciplines that will take place in various municipalities across the island: track and field, Canarian wrestling, rhythmic gymnastics, rugby, badminton, frontenis, judo, lifesaving and first aid, Canarian ball, indoor soccer, handball, and volleyball.
This initiative aims to promote grassroots sports through the participation of young people ages 6 to 17 from all municipalities on the island. This season’s program includes 176 events spread over 33 days between December 2022 and June 2023, during which 30 different sports will be played.
