    General

  • I've never done track and field, but I'd like to try it. Where do I start?

Ideally, you should sign up for our Track and Field School. Here, you’ll learn the basic techniques for the different track and field events. And if you get the competitive bug, you can participate in the Tenerife Island Council Masters Games to put everything you’ve learned into practice.

What are the center's opening and closing hours?

The center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., for members of track and field or related sports federations. On Saturdays, we’re open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and we’re closed only on Sundays and January 6. On holidays, you can also visit the CIAT from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Remember to train during the time slot assigned to your membership tier.

Are they ever closed on any day of the year?

We are closed on Sundays and also on January 6.

Are there lockers where I can store my things?

Yes, we have lockers available for you to store your belongings while you work out.

How much do the lockers cost?

They are free. Daily tickets are included in the price of the pass.

How can I complete administrative procedures with CIAT?

We’ll be happy to assist you at the front desk. There, you can ask us any questions you may have and complete all the necessary paperwork to register.

How does the bracelet work? Is there a cost?

The Mifare wristband uses a proximity chip that, when held near the readers at the access turnstiles, identifies you as a customer and logs your entry. The wristband costs 9.63 euros for adults and 3.85 euros for school students and children under 16. Take good care of it and try not to lose it, because if you do, you’ll have to pay for it again.

Can I enter the center if I forgot my wristband?

This can happen to any of us. If you forget your wristband, you’ll need to show your ID at the reception desk so that a member of our team can grant you access, but please keep in mind that we’re going through challenging times that require capacity control—something the wristband handles automatically.

My son is enrolled in the track and field program. Is it okay for me to wait in the stands until he finishes practice?

We try, as much as possible, to allow you to watch your children’s practice, but current health guidelines and available resources always take precedence.

Do you organize any kind of camp during the year?

Yes, we usually organize a summer camp that your children can attend if they are between 5 and 13 years old. You can sign them up for a week or a full month and choose whether or not to include meals.

How can I cancel my subscription if I no longer want to be a subscriber?

We don’t want you to leave. But if you’d like to cancel your membership, you must notify the front desk or send us an email at least seven days before your membership fee is due to ciat@idecogestion.net so that your membership isn’t automatically renewed.

Is CIAT accessible to people with disabilities?

    Of course, it’s fully adapted.

    Does the center have parking?

No, you’ll have to look for parking in the surrounding area, but there are plenty of options.

  • Training

  • Who is the Tenerife Athletics Center for?

You’re in luck because our center offers options for both children and adults—whether they’re registered athletes or not, beginners or high-performance athletes. All you need is a lot of enthusiasm.

What will I learn if I enroll in the Track and Field School?

You’ll learn good sports habits, the basics of track and field, and try out all of its disciplines.

    What equipment do I need?

To start with, and until you get to know your preferences in this sport, all you need to bring is comfortable athletic clothing and a pair of running shoes—that is, flexible, fabric shoes.

What competitions can I participate in?

We are a non-affiliated school, but we compete in the Tenerife Island Council Games for our children and in the Tenerife Island Council Masters Games for our adult students.

    How long can I train?

Training sessions will depend on your physical condition and the planned schedule to help you achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself. There is only a time limit for scheduled group sessions.

I'm a professional athlete. Can I train on my own?

Yes, of course. You’ll just need to sign up for a membership at the center or pay for a single-day pass per session.

  • Gym

  • What kind of equipment will I find at the gym?

The CIAT gym is equipped with the necessary equipment to work out any muscle group.

Is it open at all hours?

No, it depends on what kind of user you are:

    • For non-athletes: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
    • For federated athletes: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

    We are closed on Sundays.

Do I need to make an appointment?

It’s not necessary at this time. If the facility is at capacity, you’ll have to wait to enter. If you’re not a member, we recommend that you call us to find out if there’s an event scheduled for the day you plan to come that might limit the space available for your workout.
